The MAP Environmental Team had a unique opportunity this month to partner with the Missioners of Christ for part of their mission on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Missioners of Christ is a Virginia Beach based Christian organization that focuses on discipleship and outreach to youth and young adults. As part of their ministry, they serve the migrant immigrant community on the Eastern Shore each summer, providing relief and resources to children and youth during their summer vacation.

On a sunny August 3rd, our team traveled north to beautiful Onley, Virginia to join the Missioners of Christ volunteers who were hosting Vacation Bible School for the local migrant children. While serving lunch to the entire group, we witnessed the amazing interactions, arts and crafts and prayer occurring under a tarp in a grassy community area.

Youth volunteers not only host vacation bible school for the week, they also glean potatoes from the local fields that are donated to migrant families as well as the local food banks. What a blessing to serve! Check out some pictures from our day in Onley.
