November is for Caring
November is usually associated with gratitude and being thankful.MAP Environmental Inc. (MAP), is certainly thankful for those clients in 2019 who have given us the privilege of working with them and allowed us the opportunity to provide our services. We appreciate you trusting us with your important work. November is also a time when many people give their time and talents to volunteer in the community. It is a time to learn about organizations that help people in our area.
One organization that MAP is involved with is Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia (CCEVA). MAP employees were pleased to attend a breakfast gathering earlier this month for CCEVA to support their important work. We learned that CCEVA serves individuals and families of every race and religion and that 88% of those served are not Catholic. The CCEVA employees and volunteers provide compassion and caring for people going through difficult times.
One of the services highlighted at the breakfast is the In-Home Respite Care. If you care for an older adult in your home and need time from the responsibilities of caregiving, a trained respite worker will come to your home and provide your loved one with warmth and caring and make sure they are safe. The caregiver has the much-needed chance to take care of personal business or tasks, knowing that their loved one is safe and in a familiar setting.
CCEVA is committed to excellence in the numerous services it offers. The services include helping with utility bills, purchasing diapers, adoption services, teen anger management, providing free mental health counseling, pregnancy counseling and parenting support, marriage counseling, and programs for adult and senior care.
MAP commends the wonderful work CCEVA does for the individuals and families in need in the community. We thank CCEVA for the tireless efforts to make where we live a better place for all of us.
